On pose :

x = mon âge

y = âge frère

1• { x - 1= 2(y - 1)

2• { x - y = 16

1• { x - 1= 2y - 2

2• { x - y = 16

1• { x = 2y - 1

2• { 2y - 1 - y = 16

1• { x = 2y - 1

2• { y = 17

1• { x = 2×17 - 1= 33

2• { y = 17

Vérification :

1• { x - 1= 2y - 2

33 - 1 = 32

2×17 - 2 = 32 OK

2• { x - y = 16

33 - 17 = 16 OK

Donc j'ai 33 ans et mon frère 17 ans.
