Ex. 1 :

1) a) A = (4x-7)(x-3)-(x-4)

         = 4x²-12x-7x+21-x+4

         = 4x²-20x+25

     B = (2x-5)²

        = (2x)²-2(2x)(5)+5²

        = 4x²-20x+25

  b) A = B

2) 2x - 8 = 7

⇒ 2x - 8 + 8 = 7 + 8

⇒ 2x = 15

⇒ x = 15/2

3) 1/2 + 16/15 × 5/8 = 1/2 + (4×4×5)/(3×5×4×2)

                               = 1/2 + 4/6

                               = 3/6 + 4/6

                               = 7/6
