Bonjour
prétérit simple ou prétérit en BE + V-ing
Night was falling when the accident took place.
A 15-years-old boy was riding home when he realized a car was following him.
So he called the police. As he was explaining the situation to a police officer, the car accelerated and hit the boy. The boy asked for help on the phone.
But when the police arrived, the boy was lying on the floor and wasn't moving. He was dead.
prétérit simple ► action soudain, passée et terminée
prétérit be + V-ing ► action passée en train de se produire
