Ici il faut utiliser le Present perfect puisque le père  appelle pour savoir ce qu'ils ont déjà ou pas fait ..... en lien avec le présent

Has he fed the cat ?

Jane, have you made your bed ?

Have you put away all the newspapers and magazines ?

Jane

Derek hasn't tidied up his room yet, but he has fed the cat.

I have already made my bed, and I have just put away all the newspapers and magazines away.
